I have a dana 30 front with a trutrac locker. 2 years old, but has started to "stay engaged" recently. Won't kick out on the straight away, and vibrations on the hiway. I ususally keep it in part time for the winter, this year it started out with a bad clunk as I turned sharply from the driveway and did it a few more times since. I put it in 2wd for now, but when I tried it again it does the same thing.
Anyone got any ideas? THX

best plan is to crack that front diff open and inspect... might possibly be stuck together... its really NOT a good idea to run in all wheel drive when you have a front lunch box lucker, makes for scary turning manners

I have HEARD it was not a good idea to run them in the front with a NP242 in full time. But you have a NP231 with part time only, so you shouldn't have a problem

Any other way to tell other then pulling it apart? I can see where my sticker used to be.

Yep thats pretty much it. A 242 will have a 4fulltime that is green like the 4h. What year and type of XJ do you have. My country came with the 242. To figure out the problem with your locker, you'll have to remove your diff cover.

I have a '90 Limited. with full time and part time 4WD. So, I have the 231?
