Hello all,
I’m going to get right to it.
Last week getting into traffic I got on it :driving: and 2 seconds later it was like someone just unplugged the motor. I read in here and other forums about all the probable causes. So with that I replaced the coil, the CPS, the cam sensor in the dist. new wires and rotor, checked fuel pressure (all good) and checked all the grounds. So I got down to the ECM. Here is what it looks like at the bottom here. Has anyone taken one of these apart? it looks like the rubbery gunk is cracking. Does anyone have a spare one I can test with? Part # 56026948. I can get a new one for like $300. but want to be sure that is the problem. So if you have a spare, I will pay you for shipping + and send it back to you. PM me if you have one to sell or barrow me.
All advise is greatly appreciated, and thank you all in advance.
Oh! P.S. the codes were 12, 41, 42 (the problem) and obviously 55.

Have you checked a local junkyard, pick n' pull typ for the ecm. You might be able to pick it up for alot cheaper than $300. Granted it is hit and miss for the right year and part #.

Those can not be repaired, they are potted so they will be waterproof, so the electronic pieces are incased in the potting material. A pick and pull or regular jy is where to find one cheeper. For a 95 you will need to locate any XJ from 91-96, these years use the same unit. do not go above year 96, 97 and up use a different one and it won't work right.

Ya it looks like it would be allot of work picking that rubber shizzal out of there. I found a place on-line that wants $150 Doll hairs to repair one. So there must be a way huh? Any-who, anyone have a pin out diagram for this PCM? Like pin number 1 is were? And this pin is for this and so on? It would be helpful tracing wires back to engine components.

OH! P.S.
Is there a way to by pass or jump out the ASD relay? (Auto Shut Down)

I stand corrected on the repair part. I'm looking for a pin diagram for you now, so far I have not had any luck.

Thanks LizardRunner
I have been trying to find one also with no luck. The closest pick n pull is about 2.5 hours from me, so I will not be doing that. trying to find one at a local J/Y so far they want $100 for one.

Ok good news :smiley-gen165: have a update on this no spark issue. There is a wee 20 amp fuse in the under the hood fuse box marked "Ignition control" Pic below,

It was blown!! I could have sworn that I checked all the fues s in there.
But I am now a happy camper :D
I have extra parts now for the road ta boot.
CPS, COIL, and the Pick up modual. But one of those could be bad, and thats what blew the fuse.

don't you hate those pesky fuses that appear to be good but later finally burn enough so you can find them. I had one in a different car that looked just fine, to three mechanics infact. I pulled them and tested each one and viola, found the sucker and it still looked just fine to me but the trusty mulit meter doesn't lie.
