I have a new bds 3" lift on my Xj,but the back is higher than the front.I measured it and it is over a inch higher.I talked with the guys at Low Country4x4 and they told me that is the way bds manufactures there kit.Being that it is a SUV,it is supposed to sit higher in the rear for towing,etc...I would prefer it to be level, just don't know what would be best.A spacer, maybe a 4" spring?

A spacer would be the easiest and cheapest way to level it out. And if you plan on an aftermarket bumper and winch, get some a little taller so it will even out level with the extra weight.

The only thing the guy at the shop mentioned is that it may throw the front-end out of whack. He said 3" is the limit before you have to put adjustable lower control arms and a adjustable track bar.He said much higher than 3" without changing parts I could possibly get the dreaded death wobble. Is this true?

You may be able to get by without the adjustable parts, but your mech is right, they should be used. I was looking at the BDS kit. If yours is the one with the add-a-leaf it will probably settle some, and level it back out.

yeah spacers would be the best way to even it out! 3'' BDS is a nice kit though!

I went with the full leaf pack because my rear springs were luggage, totally! As soon as I get it back together from replacing the head gasket it is going back in the shop to get it leveled out.:driving:

I think it will level itself in a few months if you carry anything in the back. I have recovery gear and tools in the back of mine and it took about 6 months to get leveled out with my RE kit.

it is my understanding that over 3" invites deathwobble without the mentioned adjustables.

I just checked the lizard today and found out it has about 1.5" lift on it the way I bought it.

My Xj is going back in the shop this coming thursday to get the 4" springs, adjustable track bar,and adjustable lower control arms. Most of the parts will be BDS,except the springs, they will be skyjacker.BDS doesn't make a 4" spring so I had to go with a different brand. If any of you guys need new 3" springs&a trackbar relocator bracket, let me know.I will post pics when it's all done.:camera::thumbsup:

My XJ has the RE 3-1/2" super flex suspension kit with rear leafs. The rear sat a little high so took out the lower leaf (overload). It leveled the Jeep out and smoothed out the ride. Of course, now if weight is added to the rear it squats down. I drive with no weight back there 95% of the time anyway, so this is fine.

Looks great. It looks stout in front. Is it sitting a 1/2 to and inch higher now in the front. I like it.
