have read on here that these come loose , fall to pieces or something ...:confused:

anyway just got in from a night run , pulled up turned cd off, banging horrible noise,, lifted hood and have the odd spark flying as well ....:rotfl2:


cant see much as dark ,, sparks are pretty but ......
i think tony you may have a write up ...
will know more in the light of xmas day ....

The only "front pulley" that comes apart is the harmonic balancer. It's an outer pulley, with a rubber/fabric(?) ring around an inner master (the part that bolts on the crank nose). If it travels in or out from the inner master it can:

Contact the timing chain cover (sparks, and a ruined tining chain cover).

Make your belt off align with the other pulleys, making the belt jump off and/or shred itself.

Replacing the HB is pretty straight forward. Need a HB puller and some time.

thanks for that mate ,,,sounds like the problem ....cant do shit as Xmas's day , plus parts shop closed for hols ....... have to fit winch and take front bar off , so will do all at once .... man now i have to travel to in laws in the mrs cynos..... oh the shame

well i am 99 percent that this is what the problem is .... will know more tomorrow ,,, not aloud to touch it today ,,,,, man its only Christmas day ,,, i cant see the problem mrs says no but lol

well got me a into g and took belt off to start ...thought i would check the other pulleys first

so $10.00 later up and running :thumbsup:
just as well i didn't take it for granted that it was the harmonic balancer and order one ..$200.00plus

now time to fit the winch ......
