Hey 4.3 You mentioned to me how that you have used Vavoline VR1 I am wondering can I find this oil in 10w30. and if it is available in this wieght I was thinking about using it as a break-in oil. I found some imfo on the internet that the VR1 oil's have a very high amount of the Zinc& Phosphorus that these flat tappet valve train's must have for break-in.:patriot:

I haven't ever seen it in 10W30. I have seen 30W, 40W, 50W, 60W and 20W50. This is a racing oil and will probably only be in the heavier weights because as horsepower goes up in an engine, so does the requirement for heavier oils.

Thank's Jeeper.I did find out more on the Valvoline Oil's and they do have the 10w30 in the VR1. I'm thinking about using it as a break-in oil. The Zinc-phosphorus level in this is 14.5 .
