Wayne, tell him he has the classic air leak in the cracked exhaust manifold. This causes air to be sucked into the exhaust. The O2 sensor reads this as a very lean mixture, so steps up the amount of fuel going into the cylinder. It is just running too rich now. He will have to replace that header.
