OK, it is not a joke, but funny/interesting.
Where did the saying 'the whole nine yards' come from?
Answer;
WWII fighter planes had 27 feet of ammunition for their machine guns. Pilots would come back and say they gave him 'the whole nine yards' when they shot down a tough opponent. Hence the saying.
There are a whole lot more, but this is at the top of my list.
