Well I know that I have run stop leak through when I had a small leak in my heat core on my BMW that I had while I was stationed in Germany... it ran like a champ and I never had any other issues out of it for the next year, until the caulk fix the PO did on a crack finally gave up... but that had nothing to do with the stop leak...

I just poured a can of stop leak in my coolant..... I hope to prevent any micro leak and keep my "fix" a little longer....

if you can SEE where its leaking then I suggest quick steel.... thats the best stuf ive ever used.... just gob it into a ball and apply it to the hole and let it set for about an hour... then your good to go... it saved my less than a year old three row!

stop leak works on pin hole leaks very well and if you keep the stop leak in the system it will reseal any new ones that show up. If you have leaks large enough to see, you can use a putty like mentioned above or you can solder the hole shut. if it's an aluminum core, you use aluminum rod. instead of lead tin solder.

I don't recommend using that stuff at all. I suggest using pepper. I know it sounds weird but it works in the same way as the stop leak, and wont clog the working stuff. The pepper will find its way to the hole. I have done this many times b4

I have had good results using stop leak but it dose work best on pin holes not cracks. Cracks will continue to crack unless you are able to drill a small hole on both ends of the crack to stop it from growing larger which is virtualy next to impossible on radiators. I have watched it stop a leak in a crack on a seam and after a few days I would notice it weeping again and again untill it grew so large I had to replace it. So my answer would be it will get you out of a tight spot untill you can get another radiator but it's not the finall solution. Eletrolysis and cavatation are a cause and the same thing that ruins cooper pipes which is why it's code to ream all copper pipe and to use dielectric unions on all dissimalar metal pipe conections IE: copper to galvinized pipe. On the up side heater cores don't cost alot.(here)

Not tryin to scare ya Wayne but mine had Stop Leak in it when I got it from previous rad. XJ overheated on a run and nothing but Stop Leak poured out of the resivore. Nasty stuff to mate. I myself would go witht the pepper as posted above. Yers should be ok since you were the one usin it just keep an eye on it.
