My son found a real clean 01 xj for a pretty good price. What are the pros and cons of this model?

Just speaking from memory, what I've read. Problem with head cracking. I wouldn't call it a common problem, but just an issue with the 2000 and 2001 (I think) year models.

Yea I've heard the same thing. This one is as clean as yours already lifted/tires bumper w/winch 114k for $3100

Could be a Craigslist scam. I sent him a email yesterday wanting to know if he still had it. He replied he did I asked where it was located and wanted to look at it, I have not got a reply. I looked at the blue book price and it was 4500 to 6500. The pictures show it to be in excellent shape.

Scam, or it's gone. I think most people don't waste time letting everyone know it's sold, they just ignore the e-mails.

That price doesn't seem low enough to be a scam. The only other thing I dont like about the newer ones besides the head is that they have a low pinion d30

sounds like a fair price. i was gonna get an 01 in great shape, with 112k miles, 3" skyjacker lift and 31s for $3000 less than 3 weeks ago. instead i bought a stock 97 for 2 grand.

7-01 Xj has:

1) Stronger Chassis
2) Most powerful motor
3) OBDII computer

If you have an issue with the head run a 94-96 and port it,.. no more cracks

it can be done, but he would have to zip tie his coilpacks onto it. 00-01 heads have threaded holes for mounting the coilpacks, i think.

It's a scam he replyed back that he was in Canada the jeep was in Pa at a freight co. and he's now selling it through Ebay. I looked on Ebay and it's not there.
