My 98 gets between 14&15mpg with 31.10.50's and 89 octane. This will soon make a change for the worse once I get my BDS 6.5" lift&33's on it.That's ok,it will look cool doing it&be very off-road worthy finally! Can't wait to get it stuck!!!:driving::thumbsup:

Just over 11 mpg with 4.5" lift, 31" tires and stock everything else. Good thing it's a trail only rig now but now I need to get a tow rig

You guys might want to mention automagic or standard transmission. I think all the high milers are manual.

Automagic 4.0 3.55 and 28" or stock wheels I have added and change thing
and check it to see what works and what dosen't and if it is worth the money and time. That way when I start to add a lift and gear and tires
also change any engin parts I know what might happen.

How about neutral down the hill, Does that count as good gas milages? :D

did you figure in your speedo error? or did u change out the speedo gears? cause that's kinda low for a '98

lol that's exactly what I got on a camping trip a few years ago. That was before going to the 4.56 gears too! :rotfl2:

This was doing a correction for the larger tires with my TI83 calculator.

I did not change out the speedo gear.

Manual, stock, with 235s, 20mpg... just drive it like an elderly person.. keep the RPMs low.

The manually tranny&the tires seem to be the difference in mpg.Do you know what your gear ratio is?

it is alot of little thing, you have to pick the right tires. For a example hard thin byes ply tires get biter milage than wide sofe radiols. good bearings like hub,u-joints, axle and sutch. also good lube (oil and grease)Some is worth the money to do some are not. I have been checking my milage on the stuff I do so I can balens out milage and performens when I start to change my jeep.

I never really measured or cared to be honest,... it gets me there regardless of weather, road conditions and does it safely,...

Now since this thread I get about 550Kms to approx $50.00 of fuel @92.9 cents / liter. It is a 1993 4.0 with 546,000KMS , 3:55 gears , 265 75 R16 Dick Cepeks with a 5 speed transmission.

ok, i measured it in my new jeep.
4.0 AX15, stock height, 30x9.5, no engine mods - about 24mpg on the highway. i've only driven in city twice so far and it was around 18 mpg in city.
