CRIMINALS CRIMINALS CRIMINALS!!!!!!!!!
Yet again my I got broke into! This time it was attempt GTA. God it makes me so mad. Nothing was stole but my steering column is ripped apart and they tried to wire it but I'm thankful for that they gave up and took off because I have a push start.
Now that my ignition switch almost goes completely around and its loose. I'll need a new one because I was unable to repair it myself.

Okay folks.. Sites, prices and suggestions please, on a '92 Cherokee sport ignition switch. Oh..and an effective car alarm!
Thanks to all and be safe!

The switch itself is under the column. Do you mean the key mechanism?

Between the arm that adjusts the steering wheel and the blinker arm. So, on the column. On the opposite side of where I put the key in. And also the ignition [where the key goes in] is still intact , its just loose where it can't go in ACC mode to be able to start the car. It's like they broke the spring or something.
Here is a link of the pictures. [2 pics]

That is just the key lock. You might also check the little arm that goes down the column to the actual switch to make sure it is not bent and moving freely. You will probably need to remove the lower dash panel for this. If that is all OK, then the part you need to replace is accessed by removing the steering wheel. There is a write up on here on how to do that. Wrecking yard parts are good enough, or you can get a new cylinder from a lock smith if you want to keep the same key.

If you have a problem finding one. I believe your year uses the GM style column. I know my does. You can use parts from similar GM years. PM me, I'm parting out my XJ and might have what you need. Maybe even two or three.

I Actually ended up taking it to a reasonable place called Steering Column Repair. That's right, "Steering Column Repair" ..Right in the yellow pages! :) worked out pretty decent bout 150bucks. Beats a locksmith prices or whatnot I spose. They were friendly, quick, and most of all it now looks like you can't even tell a break in was done.

Thanks for the offer. Trust me, I really do appreciate it! Check out my new post.
