I'm gettin a blu ray player for my upcoming B-day. This is what I'm getting:

My tv is not modern but also ain't too old. It's a 32" flat screen HD 1080i tv.

It does not have HDMI connectors BUT it does have a DVI/HDCP port:

I want to get the most out of the blu ray player so i plan to buy this:

http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-HDMI-Adapter-Cable-Meters/dp/B001TH7T2U/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I1FHP364POSABF&colid=1TN7RPNPMAXQE

From what I understand, that allows me to use HDMI in the DVI port. That's about all I understand though.

This will all work just fine right?

thanks!

I was going to recommend a DVI to HDMI adapter, but that cable does the same thing. Just make sure the genders are correct for your application and you should be good. Let us know how it works out!

Oh forgot about gender. Thanks for reminding me. The DVI connectors seem to be the opposite of most other connectors. What I have on my tv seems to be the male connector but it's actually a female. It sticks out like a male HDMI plug but also has female plug ports in it so it's called a female connector. I need a male connector if I'm correct and that link I posted should be the right one.

This is what's on the back of my tv (example of the DVI port):

I can't see it very good. I would compare it to the one on the back of your PC. It should be the same gender.

Here's a better pix with some light:

That's female correct?

That looks to me to be the correct gendered cable. If you already happen to have component cables, I personally wouldn't worry about it as you'll probably not be able to tell any difference in quality on the 32" screen. But if you're having to buy cables anyway...might as well...

Yeah I think that's just like what I have on my computer.

Hey have you done any off roading with that long arm kit? How was it?

Yeah I went to the BDS Outback Adventure ride a couple months back.

Not many pictures but a few more here:

I have no complaints on the kit except for the shackle angles but that was due to running stock shackles and relocation brackets. It flexed great but could have used a longer shock since I bottomed out the 2.2's a few times. The valving on the shocks gets a bit stiff after a while but nothing too rough.

The post-ride inspection did reveal some wear though. Both my upper and lower flex joints on the long arms had play in them but RC sent me four new joints free under warranty. They were really cool about it. It was something related to a bad batch in the early kits they sold (got mine in November last year) but said the current kits have the better joints. They also exchanged my first generation crossmember for the newer design which didn't lower the drivetrain and have exposed tranny mount nuts.
