Personally, I like having the rear wiper, it comes in handy. but to each his own.

I like having the wiper on mine. Especially when it's raining very hard.

that believe it or not is a factory...downgrade... Some XJ's were not equipped with a rear wiper from the factory like a base model, if you look closer you can see that XJ also has no rear defroster either... its a bottom of the line thing not to say that you cant get that little cover for where the wiper mounts but its like a needle in a haystack at the JY best just choke up and hit the stealership or might get lucky and find the right size plug at auto zone

My wiper doesn't even work half the time and my washer spits straight out (great when I get a guy tailgating me or one of my friends walks behind me) so I don't ever use it. I still think it looks better on there though.

I have thought about deleting mine as well... wouldn't worry about finding the plug though... I would just mold over it like I did on my old car.. I have only used mine I think twice in the almost two years I have owned my Jeep... I like having the defroster... and I use it quite often, but don't find a need to use the wipers too often.. Just think you could always keep the squirter to use to spray people behind you... don't have to have a wiper to make use of that option of fun... LOL..

It's funny that I have the rear defroster but no wipers... and in Florida you would need the wiper for the rain cause the defroster doesnt work here cause we dont get snow :smiley-laughing021:

but I like not having the wiper as I wouldnt use it anyways...

If you park outside over night, you need that rear defroster.

Hell mine has heated mirrors and block!

I need my wiper just because of my dusty driveway. Driving over the mountains it is a must too.

Good point. I forgot about that. Creekside was really dusty past couple of trips. Def needed the rear wipers.

Yeah my first xj had the plug and no rear defroster, and it was as basic as a base model got. It had a heater and that's IT. :rotfl2:

I use my rear wiper alot lately to get all the damn dust off the back. When will it rain again? I can almost wheel in the cracks in my yard.
