Plus, that has got to cut down on the intake of air for the motor....i could be wrong on that part but its harder to breath with a longer straw...

I think the plastic is going to melt in the engine compartment, and the plastic pipe under the rig is going to get cracked and broken. I told him this is like building a custom bumper, first you do it in cardboard then you take it apart and put it together in metal. So take off the plastic and replace it with metal.

I suspect they probably needed some loving when they got back ... Ive been up to the top a coupla times over the years, and suspension takes a beating.

The roads are getting easier every year tho ... even bypasses for getting round the worst bits.

Kombis were a popular, round australia, travel vehicle, back in the day. They werent all parked at a Californian beach loaded up with surfboards .. ;) .. :D
... but the 4wd versions came out too late ... to compete with "better" vehicles.

Was almost embarrassing sometimes ... to thunder up a rough track, in the middle of nowhere ... in a landrover ... all the while, pretending to be some great explorer ...

Youtube made a change many months ago. The software that "watches" for the youtube link only recognizes certain patterns, when it does it wraps the necessary html code around it to display and play it in the post. If that pattern isn't there, then it just displays the link as a link.
