Barret-Jackson LOT: 34.1 - 1996 Jeep Cherokee 4 Door

http://highwinds.barrett-jackson.com/items/Fullsize/Cars/93953/93953_Front_3-4_Web.JPG

Parnelli Jones' Jeep which he drove and modified for casual trail riding to suit his taste. Excellent condition.

Vehicle owned, modified and driven by Parnelli Jones for casual trail riding. It is in excellent condition with the engine just receiving a valve job. Runs great and comes with a lot of special equipment. Parnelli spent over $25,000 in modifying the Jeep to suit his taste.

I'm at the point where I think I know a think or two about Jeep Cherokees and I find it hard to believe that anyone spent over $25k modifying this rig.

I see Rusty's flares, a light bar on a factory front bumper, a factory rear bumper. I see what a 6.5 or 8.5" lift. Lets figure some uber custom axles with lockers. I come up with about $8k and that includes a crate engine which I doubt this has...

Anyone see $25k of mods here?

easily put... this is parnelli jones... he has bought the BEST of everything right down to the goodyear radiator hoses at $45 a pop. New paint which depending on where you go could run up to around 2500 they dont show anything on the inside but I CAN see he has upgraded axles which im sure he just tossed a fab shop a but load of cash.... I know this much when somebody big and obviously has lots of money the sales people have TONS of room to inflate the price of services and products so think ... the lift kit top of the line could cost about 3k plus those wheels and tires another 2500... I know those rims are pricey PLUS installation of said lift... another 4-500 and Im sure he probably went with an atlas II t-case $2500 installed 4-500 front and rear lockers... remember were talking about parnelli jones here so Im sure he will go big with lockers... say about 800 each and you know hes locked front and rear sooo call it 1600 PLUS installation and gears as well sooooo theres another 1500 labor PLUS yukon gears... who else would you go with??? Im thinking 4:56 something midway or even 4:88 so those would run about 500 for both front and rear.... everything adds up pretty fast...
also I noticed it was a california vehicle so I KNOW a sound investment to have readily available when being sold is a full tank of california gold gasoline and considering he just had a valve job done he is most likely runing high octane sooooo call it 75-80 for a tank of gas... I see 25k there... dont you?

He 'paid' to have it built, and with his name......I'm sure he was charged XTRA.....Hourly rates of 65-110 dollars an hour add up fast.

Then they should say "Paid over $25k, but you could have done it for $39.95..." :rotfl2:

There is not 25k in parts on that thing , As iluded to earlier in this post he paid to have it done. If his mods include labor.... its there. Would anyone in his right mind pay that much ??? Only if PJ himself would autograph it !!!!

Besides it reminds me of Muddys Jeep ... To dadgum purdy !!!!!

That jeep would be worth no more then max 6500 to me.

For 25k I could build 5 XJs.

This is just like Obama's grand that sold for stupid money just because he owned it at one time. Who really cares who owned it. I would not mind having the last XJ ever produced, the same one Bill Clinton drove off the assembly line if im not mistaken...but today its not worth anymore then its book value IMHO

I agree with all of the above and I could put a easy $25K in a dream Xj even doin all the work myself. But come on it's Parnelli Jones and I think it's bitchin that he sunk that much into a XJ.
