I don't know if you recall my steering thread, but I was getting a popping noise that I traced back to the track bar. I went ahead and replaced everything including the pitman arm. I torqued it to 180 and then found out later that I ran out of threads on the steering box. I had to add a couple of washers to get the nut tight on the pitman arm. I found it doesn't take much movement of the pitman arm at all to make the steering feel funny.

Who needs them any way. :D I'm glad I came across this thread, it remind me that I need to work on my track bar. The bottom bolt keeps working its way out to a point, then stops. Probably because its been bent slightly. I've just gotten into the habit of checking and tightening it regularly.
