Funny smell during heavy acceleration...

I notice a funny smell each time I accelerate, as in 'petal to the metal". It's very short duration and it smells like the smell of a burned match. You know just after you have lit it? Maybe a sulfur smell. Any ideas what this may be a symptom of? The debil?

Very normal , caused by over fueling the cat.

i had this on my 88 it turned out i had a small leak in the fuel regulator, i think that is what is is called. it is on the end of the fuel rail in the front of the motor. with the engine on you could see every minute or so it would let off a drip of fuel and when you were driving you could smell it but not all the time.
i would check over all the fuel lines.
