Anyone know of a Transfer Case Identification table?

You know like what will work in what? I have a line on a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee NP242. I think it is the right one for my 1998 XJ but I want to make sure. I do know it is a NP242.

As far as I know Tony, the key thing in our vintage is that it is Jeep so it will still have the six hole mounting and that the input splines match, either 21 or 23. Yours is supposed to be a 23 spline and so is that case out of the 2000

Thought so but I get nervous when one falls into my lap, so to speak. :rotfl2:

All the info I can dig up says it is the same TC. Let us know if you discover any discrepancies.

I lost it. Someone is willing to buy the tcase and transmission. I didn't want to spend that much for it. It would have been a spare anyway. Thanks!

I have 2 spare 242s and a spare 231 but they are all 21 spliners. Which is what Renix years use.
