The second joint under the truck (leaver meets this "bar" and at the end of that bar) came loose after the bushing broke. Went under the truck and manually shifted in 2 high and drove home.

It was a bitch to get the broken piece off the nub... so I thought.

I popped on a new bushing... well now I can't get the bushing into the joint.

I got a 2 foot 2x4 using as leverage and I still can't get it on.

anyone have any tricks? I was thinking of oiling up the end, but would that just make it unstable?

Sorry if I come off like a rookie, cause I kinda am.

I use large pair of channel locks and put one part of the jaws on the edge of the bushing and the other on the shaft and squeeze. Oil or grease would not hurt.
