Im curious ... (and lazy) I am putting my jeep at 8 inches total with long arms and I need to know what the best collapsed length and extended length of shocks I need... Im getting Procomp cause they are reasonable priced and they do JUST fine for my wheelin'
I THINK im staying with 33's until I switch to 8.25 or 44's for those who are about to ask!

to do your shock you are goin to need to find what the length is fully tucked then fully extended. and as for a 8.25 i have one for you. 29splin, lsd, 4,10 gears, rock crusher diff cover. askin 250.

What you need to do is support the rig, take the tires off and let the axle drop till the spring is uncompressed. Measure from the top shock mount to the center of the bolt on the lower mount and that is the extended length you need. Then yo bump stop to the collapsed length.

What they said.. There is no one size fits all for lifts. Also You have to make a choice on weather you will use limit straps, or use your shocks and brake lines as your limitint equipment.

Personally I prefer Doescht tech shocks. Cheap and they last. I have had one set for 6 yrs now.

Also just so you know Sky jacker shocks are some of the longest available.. I have some that will extend to 38":D

why are you going so tall? The higher you go the more your center of gravity raises, which on a steep side hill might be a lil hairy...just saying. Also if you go that high you could use some 1tons since you are going to want to go to bigger tires, i.e. 36, 38....do i hear 40s :D

no 35's is most likely it unless I eventually upgrade to D60's... which I DID find a nice setup at the JY the other day from an older f350... My wheels were turnin'
