I had a similar idea, but I wanted to plate a Pinto...

Actually came across a piece of 3/8 diamond plate that just happens to be wide and long enough to bolt from unibody rail to unibody rail and act as a belly skid...

Yepper, freshly divorced......

It actually di'nt look bad though, he wrapped the base in stone.......D plate was steel, semi flat black.
