Who else washes their rig before wheeling?

My wife don't understand why I spend the whole day before washing,waxing and detailing my XJ before going on an offroading trip.I tell her it's because i like to take it looking sweet and leaving looking bad a$$.Does anyone else do this?

I've put a lot of time, effort and money into my rig, and I like it looking good. I guess if I had a beater that I trailer-ed out to the wilderness it would be different.

I wash mine and get it clean for two reasons, when the group meets to head out to the location it's cool to be all nice shiny for the trip out and dirty for the ride back in.

And two it is easier to repair if something goes wrong. You don't have to dig through layers upon layers of dirt, sand, mud and whatever else to fix the issue.

I can't remember the last time I washed mine.

i have had my new jeep for like 2 months or somthing and i have not washed it once...
is that bad?

i wash it every time it rains.. so it has been getting washed alot lately

Mine got washed once in the last year. I mean i usually do spray all of the mud off of it, in the occurance that it gets really muddy, but actually washing it with soap/sponge/etc?? That happens very rarely. But mine is one of those "beaters" that rides a trailer everywhere it goes. LOL I do occasionally drive it to work.

Mine is still dirty from the last trip. That is why I can't go wheeling. :D

I don't believe in washing mine , I just get it dirty again. Besides it annoys the wife lol lol

That's why God made rain, to wash the dust and dirt off of Jeeps so we have the fun of getting them all dirtied up again.

I think I washed my old xj maybe once a year. Had my current one since last November, haven't washed it yet. I agree with Indiana Jeep, that's what rain is for. :)

I am always asked why my XJ is never muddy or very dirty. I tell them it's because I wash it when I get back. Apparently in Oregon if you truck is not covered in mud all the time you not doing it right! :mad:

My XJ gets washed after off road trips...then it gets put in the garage until the next off road trip. It is my second vehicle, so it does not get out much.

i might wash the windows after wheeling but i wash it before meet and greets :smiley-laughing021: it still looks good from about 10 feet when clean but its starting to show its wheeling habbit its getting to the point that i need to make up my mind about the looks. eather wheel the piss out of it and dont care how it looks or keep it on the road and keep it somewhat nice and its looking like its going to be wheel the piss out of it :thumbsup:

I dont do a FULL detail but I DO vacuum it out real fast and wash the outside but I dont dry it. I do a interior wipe down of the dash as well

i wash and wax mine all the time the more i do the easier the mud and dirt washes off. my rig will shine when i get there then when i get home i put the sprinkler under it for a while and then i wash and wax it again.

When i first got my XJ, i washed it alot. Now i take it to the car wash just to knock all of the crap off of the bottom and out of the engine compartment.

I honestly can't see cleaning it up before i take it out though!
