Hey everyone. It's just me.
I thought I would take the time to stop by and say HI
I know it has been some time since I was last here and contributing to this forum. From time to time, I add my 2cents over at CF, but those instances are getting farther and farther between.
Those who know me are probably thinking, "What the heck have you been up to." Okay, you probably aren't but I will tell you whether you want me to or not.
HSP/HCP Off-Road is closed. (Newsflash there) I am only citing personal problems as the reason because no-one likes to hear whining, especially me.
Been working umteen hours of OT. I come home and crash.
But when I find time to work on my/our XJ's...I still have fun.
What I have done with MINE:
Lil Red had a TC crap-out. Rear output shaft retaining ring bit the dust, binding driveshaft sent the output shaft IN, causung periodical uncontrollable 4wd engagement. Grind, Grind, BANG.
New TC time.
Old TC rebuilt and received an Advance Adapter Slip-Yoke Eliminator.
Aquired the appropiate speedo gear to recalibrate the speedo.
TJ rear flares up front. Rears are coming.
Installed the rebuilt NP231 back in last weekend with a rebuilt (2)FRONT driveshafts.
Installed 4* leaf spring wedges (shims).
Used a set of rear swaybar endlink mounts to fab up some upper shock mounts and threw in a pair of Skyjacker Nitro 8000 shocks.
Wired up my pillar lights.
Made a stainless steel overhead CB mount plate, installed a compact Radio Shack CB.
Redid the CCV hoses with some sturdy "install em and forget em" hoses.
Installed the "hi-tech" rubber valve cover gasket...woohoo, no more leakies.
Currently: In process of utilizing the WJ lower control arm swap.
ON LIST:
Upgrading steering.
Rocker panel/sliders
Leveling lift (1-1.5 in front)
Durango steering box
Decent adjustable trackbar.
Her 91 Laredo "Jeepster":
Set of Bosch Platinum +2 during last tune-up. MAN what a difference.
New thermostat, thermostat housing and temp sensor.
New radiator, and radiator hoses.
New starter.
New harmonic balancer, and seal.
All the parts are now together for the homebrew lifting this summer.
Shooting for a 2.5-3" and possibly 30x9.5 Firestone Destination A/T's
Whew! I'd say thats a rather full plate.
