I run 10" wheels on my 32x11.5x15. I went with 10" wide rims because I knew I'd be running wider tires after I got the fenders trimmed, etc...

i run 15x10 on my 36x12.5x15 and i ran a 15x10 on my first set of 33x12.5x15.

on a side not if you do much air downed runs on rocks and stuff you will pop a bead easier than on a 15x8 wheel. for the longest i ran TJ 15x7 with a 12.5 wide on it. i could air down to 8psi before it was gettin easier to pop a bead. even though i never act popped one i got close by knockin alot of the air out of one

i go down to 7psi on mine and with the 33's i went down to 10

so on your 33's with a 10 inch wheel you went to 10psi. so then i should be able to go 18psi no problem

First of all that a great size tire rim combo for that rig and is my personal choice and what I run although I currently am on 32's. As for the air down I normally take mine down to 4 to 5 lbs and have had no problems at all . I run them at 28lbs on the street. and by the way thats a great price !!!!

As a rule of thumb, for the street you should have a rim that is the same width as the tread, give or take a half inch or so. So if on a 12.50 tire you have a 9.5" tread, then you would use a 10" rim. On a 9' tread, you can go either way since a 9" rim is hard to come by. On a strictly trail rig, you can go narrower for the reasons stated above such as airing down farther, not jamming so much mud in the bead etc. Personally, on that size tire, I would run a tube in it if you were worried about breaking the bead. With a tube, you can go down to 2 psi with no problem. You can find the tubes at agricultural sources.

Interesting! How much (about) are tubes for a large tire?

I haven't priced them in a while. For your application, considering how much long distance driving you do a little research in compatibility would be in order. But they do make a number of tubes for the 32" tires. Natural rubber are the best because they flex better. You also need to add some slick stuff to the inside of the tire like truck tires also. But I can tell you from experience these make a good substitute for a bead lock.

i run 28psi on the street now gives a better ride. when i was at uwharrie i aired down to 23psi it did good but it felt like i need to go lower. thats why i was wondering about airing down to 18psi i think that would give me enough grip to make some of the climbs

I routinely air down to 15 psi for off road and as low as 8 psi in snow.

Nope, I am still using stock rims on my 10.50s. however there are 10" rims in my future or perhaps even some 12". Wait until I get the tires. I am going for 38X14.50X17s I will wait until I get the tires or I can see a set to decide on rims. I used to run some 15" wide rims on my CJ5 with 15.5" wide tires :D
