So at work I have a big ole pile of scrap metal... "how much" you say?

Plenty to go around and build some fun stuff with!
So I decided to snag a few pieces of what I think is called Unistrut Somebody correct me cause I can't recall what this stuff is called.
Anyhow I found a few different pieces and broke out the ole welder and built a Hitch rack basically for hauling little things that just wont fit in that XJ. heres a few pics of the progress.

Does anyone know WHY these things ALWAYS droop at the back? I think Im going to put a spacer on the back of mine prior to welding it all together so it will sit level!

nice if you paint it black use some of those holes to mount some reflectors so people dont hit it at night time:rotfl2:

That is fun stuff. I used quite a bit to build a pellet mill in NW OR. Nice find on the metal. Nice project. A little paint and it will be first class.

Nice welds, well penetrated looking. You made a very useful rack.

never been on a construction site eh?

trust me 99.9% of the dudes there dont care who is working alongside them. when you have the trades flooding a project, everyone just works around each other and ignores everyone else. they just want to get the job done and go home.
I've asked the super plenty of times for leftover material(wood and steel), i usually just get a grunt a a point to the scrap pile, never another word from anyone. giving scrap away saves $$ not having to pay someone to haul it away.
I built my rear bumper from scraps I've hoarded, and have plenty of steel left to finish most of the remaining armoring i want to do. all fo' free!

I believe it is called Kindorf among other things but you did a awesome job. I may have to build one similar. I think I'll add some cheap tail lights to the back so it will plug into the trailer harness. Nice work!
