I live in Gillette, Wyoming between the Bighorn Mountians and the Black Hills of South Dakota.

I have had many jeeps over the years, but my new project is a 1986 XJ, I purchased it for $700.00 that body is in great shape.

I have started buying parts, so far I have bought a Rough Country 6.5 Longarm kit, Mickey Thompson Baja Claws 35x12.50x15, I have got a 305 GM motor out of a Camro that has been stroked.

I am now in the process of trying to find a transmission, I don't know what way to go 700R4 or Turbo 400, I would like to get a transfercase to match it.
That's what lead me to this site. I will post some before pictures and some along the way. I plan on starting the build next week.
I am open to any pointers so let me have it!

I am trying to get it started I would like to replace the week 2.8L and the Ax5 Transmission. I got my hands on a rebuilt 305 out of a Camro, but I am having a hard time finding a reasonable transmission and transfer case. Got any Idea's.

Thanks, Brian

Well you might try a NV3550 if you want a stick or a T400 if you want an auto.
