OK so after this weekend i got a faint grinding noise coming from the alternator i was told it was the alternator bearings and was also told that the bearings are inside the alternator , so I'm in need of a good wright up on this i never done this before any help would be great

It can be done but in all honesty its usually easier to just replace alt with a lifetime warrenty one from a parts house. Those bearings can be tough to find also.

what would be a good up grade , if i have to replace ?

The ZJ alternators will fit in there and give you an extra 36 amps of charging power.
