View Full Version : 8.8 & 36" tsl install

i got me some parts over the weekend. i got some of them installed today. here are a few pics and a list of what i got.

i got:

4 super swamper tsl bias ply. 36x12.5x15

ford 8.8 came with 4.10 gears, lsd, u bolts, conversion u joint, drive shaft adapter, spring perches already welded on, shock mount studs

steering damper kit to install with my crossover steering

hd trans cooler

i started today about noon and got done sometime between 4 and 5. i installed the 8.8 and mounted the tsl's.

here are some pics of the progress and work i got done today. i will be installin the rest of the stuff this week.

i had QR-78-15 before these they measured 35.5x9.5x15. and had them on a d35. blew the 35 went with the 8.8. got the tsl at a good deal and the buckshots where dry rotted

If you don't mind me askin. What did the 8.8 run you? I've been hoping to Junk yard one and spend my time building it up -----it'll take a while , I've got no experience with gears, axles or differentials outside of changing diff oil. And what kind of spacers do you have between the axle housing and the leaf springs?

i gave $350 for it. i got it from a friend. thats what he paid for it at a salvage yard. it is a 410 lsd factory. it depends on the yard anywhere from 150 to 450. mine was already setup for my lift and the spring perches where already welded on.

im not runnin any spacers yet. i am runnin a 4.25" offset with a 15x10 rim
