I like that, especially how it has some coverage underneath. Can you show how it is connected to the frame? As you may know, if that isn't done right that bumper will come off too.

looks good i am building a front bumper right now i just need to bend the stinger and weld it on and grind some more then it will be done. good work. is that just flat plate or what did you use for the center?

Very nice looking bumper, however as Muddy said how is it attached to the subframe ?? I think I still have a templet for bumper mount that tie it in if you need.

You can also make one by taking a piece of cardboard cut the shape you want and laying it against the frame and tapping on it where the holes are with the round end of a small ball peen hammer until the holes are cut out. Lay it on the metal and mark it and you will have a a perfect job. Make sure it goes all the way back to a hole in the frame that goes all the way through and is tubed. This is the hole that the stock tow hook brackets attach to and is the only strong point on the frame. Be sure to include the steering box bolts as well and you will have an instant steering box brace.

right now it is just attached at the oem points. with 4 9/16" gread 8 bolts at the front and 2 1/2'' gread 8 bolts at the back. we will extend it back to make a stering box brace
and on the passenger side it will go to the hole for oem tow hook. but we ran out of time and metal so this is just for now. thank you

Looks good... personally I would be a bit leery of the shackle mounting.

ok why

ok why

Perhaps I should have put that I would have preferred different shackle mounting. I like the mounting tabs to be through the bumper, welded all around, and perhaps part of the bumper mounting itself. It would be far less likely to shear off and become a projectile. I don't trust something that is used to recover you... or someone else to be held on by 4 "little" bolts... I would must rather have it held on by 8-10 bolts (bumper mounting bolts..).

Just personal preference I suppose, don't take any offense to it.

as far as i can see it is welded and bolted. but yes you are right on that but not everyone has the tools to do that.

no none taken. just didnt understand why thay would be a weak point . but thay are welded to the bumper not bolted to it

looks good looks like you need to get just a little more metal and welded it to what you have now and it will be fine. mine looks the same right now i just need to extend the mount on mine as well.
