Looking at tires. Wanting to go to 33" wondering pros and cons of 33x10.50 VS 33x12.50. Use the Jeep as a DD and mild trail rides, hunting and camping. Help a brother out . LOL

How wide are your rims ? that would dertimine what width tires to buy. If they are 8" go with the 10.50 if they are 10" do the 12.50 . Do not try to fit the 12.50 on an 8" rim, that asking for trouble. Also whats your off set ? can the offset handle the wider tires or will you hit the LCA's ?

The 10.5 will get you better gas milage and still do well on the trail. I have run that size for as long as I have had the XJ, although I will be going bigger with new axles.

12.5 will be noisey and unless you air down on rocks you won't need that width IMHO.

thats not necc correct. i have ran 33x12.5x15 on a stock tj wheel on my xj for the past 6 months or so. the tj wheel is 15x7. the only thing you have to do is get the correct tire pressure so the contact area is flat with the road. on my jeep with the tire and wheel setup i had it is around 25psi. run a higher pressure then you get coning shape and wear the center to low pressure and you get a cupping effect and wear the outside of the tires. there is a good side to a narrow wheel with a wide tire. i can air down to 7 - 10psi without poppin a bead. it puts more pressure on the beads and helps it keeps seated. now if you where to run a wider wheel with a smaller tire you have to run a higher pressure to keep the bead seated if you air down it will pop off easy

There is one more minor issue with the narrower rims. The tires are less stable on the highway. But if you can live with all that? Personally I think the narrower tires are much better on the stock rims.

I have a 33x12.5 on 15x10s with 3.75bs and the setup looks SiCk! EVERYONE stops me and gives me a crap load of props. I've been on every kind of trail and have had ZERO issues. Knock on wood but my jeep is a beast. I'm running Goodyear Duratrac's. Such a sick looking tire and handles great in any condition. I make turns hard as if its was my old Saleen. I drive fast on the HWY and it stays put. Hope it helps at all....GL and im a huge fan of your jeep.
