tail lights armour

whats the best way to save my poor old tail lights... dont forget i cant get half the stuff you guys use... any homemade ideas out there ....:thumbsup:

Well it may not be as pretty as the JCR stuff, but I would look at getting some sheet metal, building a box and putting the LED lights in it. I'm assuming of course that you can get the LED lights.

What about the guards I see on LR Discoveries. Can they be adapted?

I have seen one set up that was just a bent piece of sheet metal with designs cut out of the back and sides for each lens with a couple of tabs on each side to bolt to the body. Looked slick.

thanks guys, thinking maybe make up a cage same shape as the tail light and mount that some how... same sort of thing the tj use .....????

That is similar to the LR DISCOVERY then. It has a set of bars that wrap around the lights for protection and are mounted to the body.

build a back bumper with guards for them. im building a back bumper with some BUT i cant draw so i cant show you what i mean sorry :thumbdown:

why not just build a new tail light.build a box out of 1/8"/.125" steel and cut 2 round 4" holes in it and use big rig lights one red and one amber. can always add a small 2" round or oval clear one for a back up light
