Hey Jeepers!
So I had plans a while back to paint the plastic side moldings down to the rockers and finally got it done. I personally enjoy write ups so I thought I would contribute. I also find that they always seem to spark new ideas or just help out a fellow Jeeper.

Before I could start painting I had to clean up the plastics and give them a good for the paint to grip to. I bought a 3M Sythentic sanding block, this stuff is similar to steel wool but doesn't fall apart. I also bought some Denatured Alcohol to clean the plastics once I was done scuffing up the plastics. Making sure I cleaned any dirt or varmints that were deciding to hitch hike. For the next step I bought 3M heavy duty painters tape. It's very similar to the "Blue Painters" tape but it sticks better but still comes off with out leaving any residue.

The next step is to start masking off the Jeep don't SKIMP on this step! Take the extra few minutes and make sure everything is covered. I hope everyone likes my masking job and the sweet looking cardboard!! LOL:rotfl2: Oh and the Sheet!
PS MAKE SURE YOU OPEN THE DOORS AND TAPE BETWEEN THE DOORS and anywhere you don't want paint.
After masking and laying down some primer

Grab a beer and wait a few days to let the paint dry and cure! You can also go back and add some clear gloss Clear Coat.

I will upload some final Pics soon

Enjoy :gitrdun:

I thought about it but these suckers are glued on and I just didn't feel like really having to rip them off! Maybe this should be moved to Tech Articles or Writeups

I have never had one that had all the plastic in good enough condition to paint! But looks like you did a good job.
