I finally found a source for the 4M 40 series off-road rockers. These are the ones that look similar to the ARB rockers, and you order them with several printed images and labels, like "Rock Lights". Since I'm going to wind up with 8 or 10 of these switches, labels are going to be important.

I ordered 3 from Olympic 4x4 Supply :link: (http://www.oly4x4.com/)

You can find the switches here :link: (https://www.oly4x4.com/viewparts.php?mfgid=334200&catid=1269960)

They are low on the rockers right now, but expect to have more in January.

I'll post more after I get the switches.

When you order online they e-mail you telling you they will call you to find out how you want to ship and give you the total price at that time. I called them. Very friendly, helpful, and took the time to explain the situation with the rockers. I asked what the shipping would be and I was told USPS, $3.50. That's great shipping!

looks like they will help out on the trail when you have had alittle to much to drink.

Thanks for posting this. I saw these last year on 4x4mods.com but I didn't get a chance to order them. The site is still up but they don't respond to emails and you get a message saying they cannot accept payments when you try to order something from them. Thanks again!!

Yeah I had the same problem with that site. And no response to my e-mail. These guys were perfect, at least so far. I did receive an e-mail from them saying they were shipped today.

Same here, I'm thinking about replacing the stock switches on all of the doors (Door Locks and windows) as well as the switches for the rear defrost, rear wiper and fog lights. Right now the only other switch I have is for the lights on the cargo basket. Would like to get one to use for the normal driving headlights but I read somewhere that it is major hassle to try and change from the pull switch. Still worth trying to do though.

I have 4 KC lights on the front of my XJ. I have a line that used to go to the OEM fog lights that gets powered off when I hit the high beams. I can use that line to trigger the KC lights when I hit the highbeam switch. I want to get an air horn so I was thinking yesterday on the way home I need a switch labeled "Shock and Awe!" This would ENABLE something special to happen when I hit the highbeam lever.

Basically I'd turn that switch on and when I hit the high beams the high beams, KC lights, RED rock crawling lights and the air horn would come on!

You think that would be enough to get the person on the cell phone out of the fast lane, or above 35 miles per hour? :rotfl2:

Here's another alternative.

R&R Wireloom http://www.wirelm.com/page_2.html

This is a very small business and he'll make any label you want - including "Shock and Awe". So, if the switches you ordered don't work out, here's your alternative.

One note:
The true Carlingtech switches are built so you can remove/replace the switch actuater (part you touch) without having to remove the switch itself. That means you can buy just the actuators and buy the switches wherever you can find the best price. Some dedicated electronic supply shops sell these switches dirt cheap.

Here's the set up I had in my old CJ:

I still have a couple actuators laying around.

Hey thanks! You never know. While I was digging around I found the Carlingtech's you were talking about and Daystars. This picture looks just like the Daystars.

Yep. I believe Daystar is using their switches. I know the ARB's are.

Keep in mind that there is a HUGE variety of configurations of this switch. ARB uses one with two lights; headlight running light, and "on" indicator. The ones on my CJ didn't have the running light option.
