Thinking about putting chromoly axle shafts in the Dana 30, probably when the ARB is installed.

Good idea or bad?

Any recommendations for chromemoly axle shafts? RC had a set for under $600. Standard spline count, already have the ARB so I won't be going to 30 spline.

It is never a bad idea to go with stronger shafts with the ARB. Selectable lockers put a lot of strain on the shafts

I don't really know. However, if you are going to spend $600 you might want to check out RCV axles. Best warranty in the business I think. Also has a benefit of not having that steering wheel lurch when you have the steering wheel cranked due to a CV joint

Unless you're going up in tire size, not needed. I've beat the snot out of my locked 30 on 33s and never had a problem.

definitely not gonna give you a problem at the mall

I agree with Denver. I have chrome molly shafts in my axles but i'm rolling 37's. The only axle failure has been a busted u joint. I have said this before the 30 and 35 get a bad rap IMO you wheel smart you will not have a problem.

I run 33-inch tires with 3:55's and stock shafts. Have no problems so far.
