i would just throw some jb weld and some duct tape on it and call it good.
looks like this jeep came from utah.

Well at least you found it before something bad happened. What? I dunno. If you can weld you should be able to fix it up pretty good. If not, you can use sheet metal and screws. May be a good time to remove everything from the inside and repair and cover with some thick stuff. I bet it will sound better to after you are done.

Strip everything out of the interior,,,,cut and fit a chuck of sheet steel....weld the hell out of it top and underneath.... BUTTTTT Id strip it all the way to the firewall---JUST ta make sure ya still gots a flo!!!!
