So everybody knows Xj-Jake. His in laws unfortunately lost their home and everything they own in a tragic fire on December 27th. I am sharing this because they are a great bunch of people, and I would like to do what I can to help them get back on their feet, and replace the items that were lost.

Here is the link to the gofundme that Jake's wife set up for her parents.

Thanks for the post. Do they have insurance?

Thanks for posting it Ryan!

Steve, they had personal property insurance only, no homeowners insurance. They got out safe with only the clothes they were wearing, and it's been cold! At best they may be able to re-coup some cost of tools but it won't be nearly enough to cover everything they lost.

start making a list of personal property. likely have a limit on it, so they need to think of everything they can to maximize what they get back. Ins companies will throw some low ball #s as their first move. its a negotiation and they expect some push back, don't be afraid to argue a little.

any pics that back up claims will go a long way
