Power steering pump

So i had to put a new power steering pump on. The issue is with the hose. The new pump seems to have a little fatter flare then 3/8 hose. The bottom connection does fine. I was able to get the hose on for most part and hose clamp it down. However it keeps blowing the hose off the power steering pump. Is it that my hose connection is not good or is there a reason the power steering pump could create too much back pressure and still blow the hose off?

Are you trying to use a flared fitting with a hose attached with a hose clamp for a high pressure hose to the power steering box? You can only use those on the return line which has no pressure

The power steering pump has a plastic flared connector on it. I am replacing the 3/8 hose as well. The old one had 3/8 line on it and a hose clamp so i am trying to replace with idetical but new hose and clamp on the new power steering pump. I c.an upload a picture later.
