96 vs 97 tps

Are the tps for the 96 and 97 basically the same? I know the connector is different. Why I am asking is my pigtail is shot but I can’t find a new pigtail for the 96 and earlier harness, but I can get one for the 97, I could swap over so that my pigtail does not wiggle out.

Or I can also find an old one in pick n pull if I can find one that’s not broken.

Was looking online and through my Chilton and Haynes manuals it seems like they are the same or would be the same readings.. just like you said were different connectors...

My 96 take 97 sensors.. I have a weird one thats made from mostly pre 96 parts and some post 97 parts.

Some of the sensors on my 97 are similar like yours... like my coolant temp sensor is from a 98, but some of them are from 96... lol It's really crazy the it comes to replacing parts... lol
