A fire started on the Eagle Creek trail in Saturday. The fire had spread to 10,000, combined with another fire to make a 20,000 acre blaze. It all started with some dumb shit throwing firecrackers in the gorge. Parts of the highway has been closed. It looks like some kind of post apocalyptic hellscape. We're getting ash and smoke 50miles away and that's reports of it reaching Seattle.

Scary stuff!

We were in the Boundary waters over the weekend, and the Ham Lake fire back in 2007 wiped out a lot of the area up there. Its finally starting to grow back in. That one was due to an unattended fire from a camper. Its so sad to see such carelessness cause so much harm.

Yeah, one of ours was from a homeless mans campfire. Friends of mine had to evacuate. Haven't heard of their house is OK yet

Its been crazy in the metro area. Even farther out like Newberg,or. I had a delivery in the early afternoon that way. The harshness of the smoke was prevalent in Vancouver,wa north of Portland,or. That was another delivery. Its hurt my works business some since we do deliver out to hood river, or that's on the other side of this fire. My driver had to go the long way and go around mt. Hood to get there instead of straight down I-84 since its closed.

You guys need some of this water we got down here! Two birds, one stone.

Sorry to see this stuff going on. If only people cared how they effect others lives like this. I will never forget when the Hayman fire was going on near us when I lived in Colorado. Felt so helpless and just waited to be spared or not. Hope you guys have some rain and no wind!

I feel that most of the random fires that get far out of control like that always seem to start with some bunch of dumbasses (usually young) being irresponsible with matches, cigarettes and fireworks??!! Kills me...

Kills me...At any given time in the summer they's usually a couple dozen wildfires die to heat or lightning. Right now I think there's 19 in total. This is the first one in years that's man-made.
