The worst part for us, in Katy, just outside of Houston. No food delivery! I feel like this is how the cavemen must have lived. :patriot:

So is it all as bad as they were predicting? When we went to OR to see the eclipse we found all the room and gloom to be fake news

It's looking like hype is about even with reality this time.

Here where I live (south of Houston) they are saying we had 24in of rain in 24hr with most of it in 10-12 hrs. a lot of streets under water some I have never seen flooded in the 30+ years I've lived here. just got back from trying get to my son's house (2ft in it when he left fri night) could not get there roads still closed even parts of I-45 south. my son took my tj 8" lift and my f250 with 6" lift we probably could have got there by police would not let us by

To answer your question Steve I think it's worse than predicted. Local news media from what I have watched is spot on pictures don't lie. Now social media stories is all BS news. Just got back from trying to get to my sons house again. Made it almost there several high water spots no problem no police road blocks like last attempt. Got about 5 min from his house and it started to rain like a cow pissing on a flat rock. With only about 1hr of daylight left we did not want to take a chance of getting stranded there because of the high water places we went through to get there would become un passable. Try again in the morning if it quits raining.

You took the TJ? How deep was the water, estimated?

1-2 ft remember it has 8" total lift on 37's. My new to me 2011 f250 6.7 turbo diesel power stroke has 6" lift on 33"s (just got it Friday) being a 3/4 ton the body is about as high off the ground as the tj.

Yea he and his gf are staying at my house. He's already contacted his ins. co and has a contractor lined up to start repairs as soon as the water goes down.

Been having trouble getting on the site the last week or so but finally got back on and am extremely thankful to say we've weathered the storm and come through fairly unscathed. I'm just north of Houston and we were clear of the storm, then they released a reservoir for a big lake nearby and that flooded the river near us higher than I've ever seen. Still, we were blessed with our place being higher than the river so it didn't come too close.

This is the overflow from the river I mentioned by the interstate about five miles away. This area is normally a access road to U-turn by the river and has only flooded once that I've seen and nothing like this. I also screenshot a google host during normal times.

The house here is on the side of the interstate by the river, before and after.

Went down to the back of our neighborhood about a mile back and was stopped by this.

Also, while searching online my brother found this pic. This is only a mile away from our other house we lived in before my mom got sick. We did get word from a neighbor the house is safe.

Its just so humbling to be spared and I will be thankful for a long time. My pastor and his wife, as well as my boss weren't so fortunate. They live two hours apart too. Sadly, its affected such a massive area I am sure assets and help will be very short in supply.

I know my work place is okay with just a minimal amount of water inside but we have a lot of customers and use businesses in Houston so I have no idea how work is gonna be affected.

Glad you were spared Jake, and hope that any of the damage done to your place of work, as well as customers and businesses you guys use is minimal and will not majorly affect anything..

I'm friends with some of the people that works at those places as well and I'm hoping they faired well too. One of them, she has a sick mom at home that the doctors only expected her mother to live a few more days, last friday. Can you imagine going through all this with that going on. I can't!

Hoping we get back to work soon. Not getting paid for a few weeks won't be good being just got back to work after five years.

Family safe and flood didn't quite reach the house. We were stranded for a couple days, but as soon as it went down enough, I took the wife and daughter to the in-law's who had power. Spent 3 days there and now we're back home.

There was a tornado 10 minutes from me and I went out helping people tarp their roofs before it got bad, and my wife was calling me saying if I didn't come home right away, I wouldn't be able to in the water. As soon as I got my family safe at my mother in law's, I was back out working 14 hour days repairing roofs. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170902/6f9bfc6309bd14a2b58687c129108256.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170902/fed50b700817954e832cece26264af0e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170902/7115c2b267477d07557c99f8e4e1be89.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170902/eabc56652f66265494c7820d4bf71f31.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170902/55d85c9cb696ee3ee051e098caf3b127.jpg

After 3 days of trying to get to my sons house we made it. One pic of me following the TJ the others are the front of my sons house. You can see the water line. It's now all gutted sheet rock and belongings waiting for it to dry out. In about 2 weeks they will start the re build.
