View Full Version : I hate photobucket

From day one I have never liked the idea of putting my pictures for my posts on a service that I didn't control.
If it's free then how do they make their money? How long will they be around? Perhaps they are doing the Internet thing where they get millions of subscribers so they can sell the company for 21 bazillion dollars to Apple, Amazon, or Microsoft. But then what are they going to do with your FREE service?
Now if you upload your pictures to the site you have to worry about them disappearing if something should happen to me or my mood. :D
I guess one good thing about using a service is, if you get pissed off at me or :xjtalk: you can take your pictures with ya. If they're uploaded to the site they'll be there forever... muahaha
:P

There was one big advantage to using photobucket. After I pasted links, I could just copy and paste the post to another forum. Fast and easy

Yep, that's actually what I did when I moved my build thread over here from another forum.
I guess we all learned a lesson with storing pics. Glad I only used it for sharing, I'd hate to have pics completely lost if they decide to make you pay for access.

The sad thing is, there are people that will pay the ransom for their pics

Pay the ransom, download your items then cancel payment. Lol

Fortunately, I guess, you can still get to your pictures for free, you just can't see them anywhere else. So it's download, upload them somewhere else and change EVERY POST ON EVERY FORUM use ever used them on.

Gonna have to upload them separately Dana. Kinda sucks. I think what I would almost do is start a new one. I think I am due for a general upgrade anyway. This motor is getting really tired

Already?? How many miles are on it? Doing awesome suspension stuff, that's worth doing a build thread alone. What's your new powerplant?

Already he says. About 300K on the motor. Thinking something with LS in it. What number it will be depends on budget.

Yeah, used motor when I got it and it was a daily driver for about ten years now. Starting to blow oil everywhere. This will probably be the last major trip on this engine

sounds like its treated you well. If budget doesn't call for a LS*, rebuild an option?

I can pick up a used LS1 for just slightly more than the type of rebuild I would do. The LS1 can use the tranny I currently have which is in great shape still

And if I am made of money, I can go with a 535 hp LS3 with 6 speed auto that has a 4:1 first gear. Lots of money involved there though
