hello guys, i'm Hendra, from Indonesia (hopefully you guys ever heard my country :D)
i got 97 xj 2.5 L manual since 2001 and replaced the engine with xj country including the whole trans to automatic around 4 years ago. it runs perfect and no problem at all. As my work keep me busy and always went for travelling i never drive my jeep for almost 3 years not even start it up until the battery soaked. Now i'm fixing it back and have problem. when engine cold and i turn the key to on the check engine light only wink and off, the fuel pump won't stop buzzing and engine won't start, cranks only. when the first time had this i still can get the check engine light on after trying a few minutes with turning the key on and off and engine starts normally, but still after few hours stop will have to do it again a couple of minutes. but now check engine light only wink one time and won't come again at all, fuel pump won't stop buzzing when turn key on, and engine cranks only won't start. can anybody help me here?

thanks

Thanks for posting Hendra. And yes I know where Indonesia is :D a couple of questions. Did you replace the engine computer when you did this. Did you use a complete wiring harness with it. What sensors did you use?

Does it have (fresh) fuel in the tank? at the fuel rail on the engine?
Does it have spark?

I've had a few jeeps that didn't have a check engine light on the bulb check, it was alway's the ECM was bad. The check engine light along with all your other dash lights should come on momentarily when you cycle the key it's a bulb check.
