:patriot:So I just got the ac system back and running (new condenser) and no leaks...
But now while I'm driving it will slow climb up to 218 before I decide to turn it off(this is while the ac is at 2)
What I have
97 jeep xj
New radiator
New water pump
New thermostat
Hoses are good
And an extra fan in front

What I know is an issue with the jeep
The vacuum may have a leak somewhere (I know has an effect on ac but not sure about raiseing engine temp)

When I charged the system it ran fine and didn't over heat while running for 15-20min but once I started driving to work it wanted nothing but to climb

Any help would be great thanks for the help:patriot:

Does the electric fan kick on whenever the compressor engages?

And an extra fan in front

In front of the radiator? Was this before or after it started running hot?

The A/C condenser is like a radiator which is meant to remove heat from the liquid/gas flowing through it. This consequently reduces the cooling of the radiator of the Jeep as now more hot air is flowing through the radiator vs cooler air.

Adding an extra fan in front of the radiator also blocks/obstructs the air flow going through the condenser and radiator.

So this is where I think my problem could occur
Now my stock fan and the extra fan run on a direct switch so it's on all the time...the extra fan does sit in front of the condenser in the middle which would make sense but when the ac is off on a hot summer day my jeep will sit at 200 exact (measurement not just from the dash but from my ultra guage plugged in to the obd2 or whatever it's called)

Hard wired to a switch

Right, the AC condenser isn't putting additional heat out in front of the radiator, the front fan still may be blocking some of the radiator reducing it's efficiency.

So take that extra fan off and see what goes on?

I wouldn't hurt and honestly it shouldn't be needed.

Any ideas beyond that?

Hey just an update (it wasn't quite a million degrees when I got off work) but I had it on max ac the entire 25min ride home and didnt over heat at all.
Thanks for the help sometimes the answer is right in front of you and you don't realize it
