Modified flares

Has anyone here did this fender flares (http://4wheelonline.com/Fender_Flares.3212) mod on their XJ? I found this on the web today. They used TJ flares for it.

I've seen them once they were done, and thought looked pretty good.. but haven't seen it being done.. Have thought about it, as I still need just a tad bit more clearance @ the rear of my front fenders when flexed..
