New kid on the block

This is my first foray into the Jeep world, XJ or otherwise. I live in a rural area where a 4x4 isn't exactly a necessity, but it sure isn't a luxury either. I've wanted a Cherokee 4x4 for YEARS and finally had a reason and opportunity to get one. Yes, I just meant a Cherokee of any type before I had gotten this one. I did not, however, realize there were so many types until I started researching. Thanks for the advice though. It's very much appreciated because I certainly know nothing about them

Welcome to xjtalk and gladly welcome to the jeep life. I grew up in a 93 grand cherokee and it's where my addiction started. They're great at just about everything and fit in everywhere. Yours being a 98 is the last year for the zj. Looks like you should have the 5.2l V8. Sure wish they'd of kept that over the 4.7 they went with for 99. Anyways, what's your plans for it?
