Had my fist XJ in 1997, new. Lost it in a battle between lawyers. Picked up a 97 Sport this summer. Did not realize how much I missed it.
She is still stock. Green with some clear coat issues on the roof and hood. Got it to take the family camping and get closer to the places the back country with my cameras. Still working on list of mods. Has a rebuilt engine, replaced the alternator and steering box this past month.

Welcome Jim. Sounds like you have plans already. What part of the country are you from?

Man, sorry to hear they took your baby! I can't imagine. But glad you're back in an xj and looking to the future. Was your other xj built?

Sent via messenger pigeon. I talk, he types.

First XJ was Daily Driver and what I always thought of as back country cruiser. Nothing out of the ordinary. But got me to all kinds of great places around the Great Lakes.

Thanks, glad to have found the forum. I am from Michigan originally, am now up in Canada, out on Vancouver Island. So much to explore, so many logging roads to head down.

Still trying to figure out how to make the interior work and store best, and not spend all of my money.

There is room in the XJ, but sometimes it isn't enough. But other rigs can be too big. There are interior racks and roof racks too
