I am replacing my rough country long arm crossmember with another rough country crossmember. long story short i bent the hell out of the crossmember and broke a weld.

Anyway back to the question I want to cut the new crossmember and weld plates to make the center section removable without dropping the long arms. Will 1/8 plate be heavy enough? I mean Properly welded then bolted the bolt will be what is taking all the weight.

I have a lot of 1/8 plate is the reason Im asking about 1/8.

3/16 will work better for you

4.3 I was hoping you be the one to answer. I'll go pick up some 1/4 or 3/16

I'm honestly surprised that with all of their redesigns and rebuilds of things, they haven't done anything like that with their design.. Something more like Clayton or IRO does with theirs...

That's exactly what I was thinking James. Instead of putting the RC one back in why not just upgrade to one that has it already done instead of hacking a brand new one apart.

I'll get some pics tomorrow. I had to be pull backwards at an angle off several rocks and landed on the crossmemver.

Ouch... still think RC should look into figuring out a way to do a 3pc crossmember so their customers can remove the middle section for any kind of maintenance... as well as in the event of something like this happening.. but not have their rigs completely non moveable in the process..

IRO's is 250. with a dropout section, but can't tell if its go an upper link mount or if you'd have to add it
