I'm just wondering if I can adjust the angles to help with the vibration and chirping noise caused by lifting it 4.5 in, or is the (slip yoke eliminator) the only option? I will be going that route but till then I want to try and ease some of her pain.

You can lower the transfer case 1 inch that should take care of you

Agreed. I tried to shim the rear axle to adjust the angle on mine for the same issue, but in the end it was all wasted time. The only thing that actually helped was dropping the transfer case.

On the later XJs, dropping the tcase an inch seems the best. For some reason the driveline is just not long enough to shim the axle instead. Also while you are there, remove the driveline and grease the splines on the output. That seems to help too

I wasn't able to get away with lowering the t-case and installing pinion shims. My vibes didn't go away and I had to go with the full meal deal of an SYE kit. This happened after I blew up the case though.... :O
