Ok so i wanted to install a catch can on my xj to catch all the crap from building up around my intake and stuff but i noticed ther are two breathers ontop of the valve cover one is going into the side of my aftermarket air intake and the other on the back of the cover just runs right into the manifold so which one would be more beneficial to splice the catch can into do they both do the same thing? could i just T them together and run them both through the can and into the manifold or no any advice would be appreciated

I made my own catch can several years ago and plumbed it in between the pipe coming from the rear valve cover CCV grommet and the intake manifold.

You shouldn't need to plumb in a second catch can on the "clean air" side from the air filter assembly to the front valve cover CCV grommet unless you have excessive piston ring/bore blowby pressurizing the crankcase and soaking your air filter with oil.
