This will be a Jeep Talk Show host of one trip. Tammy and Josh are more than welcome, but that would be a very long drive for them. Portland OR and Maryland.

It can however the route (290?) thru Columbus, Bastrop, Austin etc... might be more scenic, longer (in time) but shorter (in distance).

Scenic, absolutely.
I-10 is boring.
I may flat tow my jeep with me to work (west texas area).
I'm less than 100 miles from that spot.
But once a solid date is set I'll request the time off.

I know it's a few months away but I did a little bit of scouting in this area.
I was able to get the key to the gates and actually did the run. I won't spoil it but it was awesome. Can't wait to do the run with everyone who decides to go!

I'll have to check. Dunno. Looks like October before the trip, so plenty of time to check, or make arrangements.
